YOUR ENTRY INTO TOURING - ADVENTURE SKI/SPLITBOARD TOUR

Valais

Fri. 30th January to Sun. 1st February 2026

Ski touring doesn't begin with altitude gain, but with knowledge. Anyone venturing off-piste needs clarity, orientation skills, and the ability to accurately assess situations in the terrain. The Ski and Splitboard Adventure course provides you with precisely these fundamentals. Together with mountain guide and snow sports instructor Simon Schmid, you'll immerse yourself in the most important aspects of ski touring over three days and put your newfound knowledge directly into practice on the snow.

This course is designed for beginners and those returning to the sport who are looking for a structured approach to ski and splitboard touring. The curriculum includes avalanche awareness, navigation, tour planning, equipment knowledge, and companion rescue – everything you'll need for your own future tours on skis or a splitboard.

The first day is dedicated to theory and equipment checks to ensure everyone starts from the same foundation. On the second day, you'll head to a ski resort where you'll practice rescue techniques, navigation, and avalanche awareness in a practical setting. On the third day, you'll put your newly acquired skills into practice on a tour that you'll plan together. The procedures become clearer, the decisions more deliberate, and the terrain more familiar.

You'll be accommodated at the WYN Skillpark in Salgesch, where you'll stay in a dormitory with half-board. The training is intensive, compact, and clearly focused on safety and independence.
