SWISS ALPINE CULTURE
Life in the Alps has always been dictated by the mountains. By long winters and short summers. By snow, weather, and steep terrain. By people who had to learn to make do with what they had. Who made things themselves, passed on knowledge, and stuck together when it mattered.
Much has changed.
Today, we snowboard down those same mountains. We seek powder, build kickers for fun, climb their rocks, ascend their peaks, and afterwards sit together on a hut terrace.
But something has remained.
The mountains still dictate the rhythm. The weather still plays a role. Experience counts. People help each other. They improvise. And sometimes, a pretty good day emerges from very little. For us, Alpine Culture is precisely that: not just sports in the mountains, but life all around it. The people. The stories. The craftsmanship. The knowledge. The work. The friendships. The peculiarities. And that hard-to-explain yearning to go out again and again.
Here we collect the stories, people, events, and projects that shape and carry on this Alpine culture.
STORIES FROM UP HERE
journal
Some stories begin with a snowboard. Others in a workshop, in a hut, on a rock, or over a beer afterwards.
In the journal, we tell stories of people, adventures, projects, and things that are part of our alpine world.
Together is a good place to be
Events & Courses
Alpine Culture thrives on people coming together.
To share experiences and knowledge. To learn from each other. To watch a film, exchange stories, be out and about together, or simply enjoy a good evening.
Whether it's a course in the mountains, a video premiere, or a ping-pong evening in the HAE workshop: it's about encounters, shared experiences, and a community where everyone can contribute something and take something away.
No good day is made alone
team
Someone knows the way. Someone breaks trail. Someone shovels. Someone holds the rope. Someone waits. Someone knows when it's time to turn back.
And someone buys the first round afterwards.
The mountains bring people together. Our Friends are a part of this world and contribute their own stories, skills, and perspectives.

The best shops are more than places that sell gear.
They are places for advice, stories, local tips and the question of where it was good yesterday and might be even better tomorrow.

SOME THINGS ARE STILL MADE SLOWLY
production
HAE started with wool, a crochet hook and a handmade beanie.
To this day, selected products are handmade in Valais. Others are produced together with long-standing production partners in Europe.
