Steep terrain, wide-open lines, and clear decisions. The Big Mountain Camp Splitboard Edition in Engelberg is for those who know what they're doing and are ready to delve even deeper into the alpine world. Together with the Engelberg Mountain Guides and our team buddy Julian Fürsinger, you'll spend three days in high alpine terrain where training and adventure intertwine.
The first day focuses on technique. You'll learn to move safely on steep terrain, master kick turns, set up rappel stations, and plan your own routes. The goal is to be able to conduct alpine snowboard tours independently and responsibly.
The following days take you on a challenging application tour in spectacular surroundings. You'll spend one night in a winter room, where you'll cook together, warm up, and plan the next day's tour. It's not just about technique and fitness, but also about experiencing the peace, vastness, and responsibility of a rugged, silent landscape together.
This camp is aimed at advanced splitboarders with backcountry experience. You should be able to confidently ride on steep, unprepared terrain up to 40 degrees, have good climbing technique including kick turns, and possess the stamina for 1200 to 1500 meters of elevation gain while carrying a backpack.
