SUN. 29 JUNE | TRAD CLIMBING COURSE IN VALAIS
Trad climbing – drawing your own line
With trad climbing, you decide where to belay yourself. No bolts, no fixed points – just wedges, friends, and your instinct for the rock. This style of climbing is also called "clean climbing" – because it respects the rock and leaves it unchanged. Those who belay their own routes not only experience climbing in a new way, but also themselves.
During the trad climbing course, Felicitas will show you how to correctly place mobile protection such as friends and wedges – and how to safely navigate cracks, corners, and rock structures. We'll choose an area that encourages confidence – technical from 5b (UIAA 6). In good conditions, we'll climb the Furka Pass – rough, wild, and clear. Should the weather change, we'll be flexible and switch to an alternative area.
