Matthias Bumann is the founder of HAE and has shaped the Swiss outdoor brand since its inception. What began as a passion for snowboarding, the mountains, and the alpine community has evolved into a standalone brand for functional headwear and outdoor products.

HAE is based in Valais. This heritage also shapes Matthias and the brand’s development: short supply chains, a close connection to the outdoor community, and products that must perform where they’re used.
In addition to developing HAE, Matthias focuses on new products, materials, and collaborations. His focus is not only on functionality but also on how products can be manufactured as sensibly and responsibly as possible.
