If you enjoy climbing, then you know this:
You're standing in front of a wall and wondering, where do I go up?
Which route? How difficult? How long? Belay points? Sun? Approach?
You can find this kind of information in climbing guidebooks – and the last one in Valais was from 2012. Since then, however, an incredible amount has happened: new routes, new areas, renovations, new lines.
That's why there's a new project that we simply have to support:
Mättu & Michi are working on a completely new climbing guide for the Upper Valais.
Together with you, we are supporting the "New Upper Valais Climbing Guide" project with 10% of Black Friday sales.
A book from here – for everyone who's out and about.
The new climbing guide will not be a quick PDF or a loose collection of notes.
It will be a real, printed book with over 2,000 routes in around 80 areas, in 7 regions – from Goms to the Saas Valley, from the Simplon to the Matter Valley.
Also present:
- Hand-drawn or drone-created topos
- Precise maps and boarding information
- Photos and stories straight from the rocks
- Guidelines for sustainable behavior on the rock face
- And: Tributes to the pioneers who shaped climbing in Valais
The whole thing is full of passion, dedication, and local knowledge.
Not some anonymous publisher from somewhere, but a true passion project from two locals who know exactly what matters.
